Raising awareness can be as easy as a click of a button, printing or ordering posters to display, liking or sharing a post on our social media pages and sharing YouTube videos CRY have produced, this all helps to raise awareness. Through raising awareness of these conditions, the public, medical and sporting communities will be alerted to the symptoms that can lead to a young sudden cardiac death and help save young lives.
CRY and myheart need your support and we are so grateful to our supporters for raising awareness through social media. Raising awareness of CRY/myheart and its objectives can be as easy as a click of a button-liking or sharing a post on our social media pages and sharing YouTube videos which myheart have produced all helps to raise awareness and save young lives. Through raising awareness of these conditions, the public, medical and sporting communities will be alerted to the symptoms that can lead to a sudden cardiac diagnosis in the young, as well as the potential risks that these conditions carry for an asymptomatic population. myheart’s social media are Facebook and Twitter.
Many people who contact CRY have said it has helped them to feel less alone to read other people’s stories. We are very grateful to all myheart members who have shared their story for the myheart website. If you would like to share your story, please email this, along with any photos you would like to include, to myheart@c-r-y.org.uk. Your story will also be published in our annual printed newsletter.
You can also share your story (tagging myheart) using the hashtag #myheartmystory. We will, in turn, retweet/repost your story.
If you have shared your story with us in the past, you can use the link from the myheart website in your tweet/Facebook post to share it.
myheart members can also organise their own awareness event, or display, distribute CRY or myheart posters and leaflets. You might consider taking myheart leaflets with you to your next hospital appointment, to leave with your clinical team so that other young people with a diagnosis of a cardiac condition can find out about the support available. Leaflets and posters can be requested from the CRY office. Please email myheart@c-r-y.org.uk or call 01737 363222.
We greatly appreciate the time that people volunteer for CRY. We recognise the valuable contribution each individual makes, and without volunteers some of our services and events could not be offered. Our aim is to make sure you have a rewarding experience volunteering with CRY and have the opportunity to meet new challenges, develop your skills, gain a great sense of achievement, and contribute towards CRY’s aim of saving young lives. Register to volunteer for CRY at our upcoming events here.
Read myheart member, Nicole McShane’s experience of volunteering at CRY’s flagship event, Heart of London Bridges Walk here.
Please note: We are unable to take volunteers at our screening events, however if you are a cardiac physiologist and would be interested in joining the CRY team please email your CV to ecg@c-r-y.org.uk.
