Currently myheart holds meetings twice a year in a central location for young people, between 18 and 35, who have suddenly been diagnosed with a life threatening heart condition. Anybody with a cardiac condition between the ages of 18 and 35 can come to the meetings if they:
Given the complexity of some conditions we recognise that there will always be a need to consider some cases on an individual basis.
Young people can gain support through meetings and talking to others in a similar situation, hearing the different ways they have coped and discussing any issues that have arisen since their diagnosis. Read feedback from other members of the myheart network who have attended meetings in the past and how they have benefited.
Meetings are free to attend and give members an opportunity to meet and discuss their experiences in an informal but supportive environment. It does not matter how long ago you first received your diagnosis or whether you are undergoing any sort of treatment at the moment.
There is also a Q and A session with a consultant cardiologist, who specialises in dealing with young people diagnosed with one of these complicated conditions. CRY will also cover reasonable travelling expenses on submission of receipts after the event. Unfortunately CRY is unable to refund any other expenses, such as accommodation if you stay in London to attend the event.

Whilst the myheart meetings are exclusively for young people aged 18-35 living with a cardiac condition, we have an online network which can be joined by anyone over the age of 18 who has suddenly been diagnosed with a cardiac condition. In 2013, a welcome grant from “Jeans for Genes” enabled CRY to hold myheart meetings.
A grant from “Global’s Make Some Noise” helped fully fund the national November 2015 myheart meeting.**
